So to clarify when you get a DUI it is because you are Driving Under the Influence. So you do not have to be drunk to get a DUI and in this case this guy was high on marijuana. In fact he had 4 ounces of the stuff which is highly illegal in the state of Connecticut. So what was he charged with? Well today just wasn’t his day because the checkpoint was near a school so they busted him for illegal distribution of marijuana, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and illegal possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school. These lovely fines landed him a bond of $25,000. The cops said when they asked for the man to pull over and when he cracked open his window the smell of marijuana started to come out of the car. In the end kids if you get high don’t get high and drive. Cause when you come down from your buzz and find you have a $25,000 bond on your head it is really going to be a buzz kill.
